The limits of existing search data sources for research
Google Trends is relative, not absolute. You cannot compare countries.
Trends shows "100" for the peak in one country and "60" for another, but those are normalized within each country. A "100" in Germany and a "100" in Indonesia represent entirely different absolute volumes.
